Verbavela (José R. Nieves Rosado, doing business as Verbavela) sells digital books at verbavela.com. This page explains what data we collect, why, and who we share it with. For any question, write to [email protected].
What we collect
- When you buy: your name, email address, country and the billing details the payment gateway asks for. We use them to process the order, send you the download link and keep the record of the sale.
- If you create an account: your username, email and password (encrypted), so you can download your books again from «My account».
- When you download: the date and IP address of each download, to apply the download limit and prevent abuse.
- If you use the chat: your messages are sent to the artificial intelligence provider to answer them, and we don’t keep them. If you leave your email so we can help with an order, the conversation reaches us by email and we keep it until it’s resolved. Don’t type payment details in the chat.
- If you write to us: whatever you tell us in your email.
We never see or store your card or PayPal account details: PayPal processes the payment on its own systems.
Who we share it with
- PayPal, to take payment. Their policy: paypal.com.
- Cloudflare, which protects and speeds up the site and carries its traffic.
- Anthropic (and OpenAI if the first one fails), which answers the chat messages. They don’t use those messages to train their models.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), through its pixel: see Cookies. Their policy: facebook.com.
- Our hosting provider in the United States, where the site and database live.
We do not sell or rent your data.
Cookies
The store uses its own cookies that it needs to work: the cart, the session and the login. We also measure visits with Google Analytics: page views, where you came from and purchases (without your name or email). We also use the Meta pixel to learn whether our Facebook and Instagram ads bring readers: it tells Meta which pages you viewed, whether you started checkout and whether you bought (with the total, without your name or email). Meta may link this to your Meta account and use it to show you our ads; you control that in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings. How long we keep it
Orders are kept as long as the law requires for accounting and tax purposes. Accounts are kept until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it (except what the law requires us to keep) by writing to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.
Children
The store is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with its date.
